โš ๏ธ W3C Working Draft Notice

WCAG 3.0 is an active W3C Working Draft in development by the AGWG. Requirements, assertions, the conformance model and reporting tiers are still being developed and may change. The latest published draft is the 10 September 2026 Working Draft; this site follows the editorsโ€™ draft, which also includes exploratory provisions.

developing Core requirement

Text Size Adjustable

Group: text-and-wording • Guideline: text-appearance

Summary in Plain English

Text can be increased to at least 200% of the platform's default body-text size. Text that also appears elsewhere in the view and can be enlarged that far is exempt.

Why It Matters

Enlarging text is the most common adaptation there is. Layouts that clip, overlap or scroll sideways at 200% take it away from people with low vision.

Scope: When This Applies

The draft's own conditions, quoted from guidelines/groups/text-and-wording/text-appearance/text-size-adjustable.md.

Except when

  • the same text is available elsewhere in the page/view which can be increased to at least 200% of the platformโ€™s default body-text size.
