โš ๏ธ W3C Working Draft Notice

WCAG 3.0 is an active W3C Working Draft in development by the AGWG. Requirements, assertions, the conformance model and reporting tiers are still being developed and may change. The latest published draft is the 10 September 2026 Working Draft; this site follows the editorsโ€™ draft, which also includes exploratory provisions.

exploratory Supplemental requirement

Support Available

Group: help-and-feedback • Guideline: help-available

Summary in Plain English

Support is available while the user is entering data, completing a task or searching, where the content includes those processes.

Why It Matters

These are the moments when people get stuck and abandon a task. Support offered at that point, rather than in a manual, is what keeps the task completable.

Scope: When This Applies

The draft's own conditions, quoted from guidelines/groups/help-and-feedback/help-available/support-available.md.

Except when

  • the content does not include one or more of the mentioned processes.

Examples from the Draft

Worked examples the W3C editors wrote into the provision itself, not examples invented here.

When the content does not include search, there is no requirement for support to be available for search.
