WCAG 3.0 is an active W3C Working Draft in development by the AGWG. Requirements, assertions, the conformance model and reporting tiers are still being developed and may change. The latest published draft is the 10 September 2026 Working Draft; this site follows the editorsโ draft, which also includes exploratory provisions.
Where a task runs across several steps, the instructions for completing it are there to be found - the process does not assume the user already knows how it works.
Why It Matters
Processes that assume prior knowledge exclude first-time users, and disproportionately those who cannot infer the missing steps from the layout alone.
Check that the steps and instructions needed to complete a multi-step process are provided.
Check that any breadcrumb navigation correctly communicates the current step in the process.
Expected results
#1 and #2 are true.
