WCAG 3.0 is an active W3C Working Draft in development by the AGWG. Requirements, assertions, the conformance model and reporting tiers are still being developed and may change. The latest published draft is the 10 September 2026 Working Draft; this site follows the editorsโ draft, which also includes exploratory provisions.
Anything operable by pointer, voice, gesture, camera or any other means has to be operable with the keyboard interface alone.
Why It Matters
Reaching a control is not the same as being able to use it. A custom widget that only responds to a mouse event is a dead end for every keyboard-driven assistive technology.
Check that it can be operated using only the keyboard and keyboard actions in the Standard Keyboard Navigation & Operation Keys and Techniques or described on the page where it is required or on a page earlier in the process where it is required.
Expected results
#1 is true.
