โš ๏ธ W3C Working Draft Notice

WCAG 3.0 is an active W3C Working Draft in development by the AGWG. Requirements, assertions, the conformance model and reporting tiers are still being developed and may change. The latest published draft is the 10 September 2026 Working Draft; this site follows the editorsโ€™ draft, which also includes exploratory provisions.

developing Core requirement

Errors Associated

Group: error-handling • Guideline: correct-errors

Summary in Plain English

When validation fails, the error is tied both visually and programmatically to the element that caused it or that can fix it.

Why It Matters

A programmatic association is what lets a screen reader announce the error when the user reaches the field, rather than leaving it stranded somewhere else on the page.

Examples from the Draft
