developing Supplemental requirement

Consistent Help Available

Group: help-and-feedback • Guideline: help-available

Summary in Plain English

Where help exists - a phone number, a contact form, a self-help option or an automated assistant - it is labelled the same way and sits in the same place relative to other content across pages.

Why It Matters

Help that moves around is help that cannot be found in the moment it is needed, which is exactly when someone with a cognitive disability has least capacity to search for it.

Scope: When This Applies

The draft's own conditions, quoted from guidelines/groups/help-and-feedback/help-available/consistent-help-available.md.

Applies when

  • human contact information, a human contact mechanism, a self-help option, or a fully automated contact mechanism is available.
