developing Core requirement

Changes To Elements Notified

Group: interactive-components • Guideline: control-information

Summary in Plain English

When an interactive element's name, role, value or state changes, that change is indicated both visually and programmatically.

Why It Matters

A state change nobody announces - a button that has become pressed, a field now marked invalid - leaves screen reader users acting on stale information.
