WCAG 3.0 is an active W3C Working Draft in development by the AGWG. Requirements, assertions, the conformance model and reporting tiers are still being developed and may change. Caption Features Available

Group: images-and-media • Guideline: captions

Summary in Plain English

An exploratory requirement: captions offer enhanced features that let users interact with them rather than only read them.

Why It Matters

Being able to search, pause on or re-read a caption gives deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers the same control over pace that hearing viewers get from replaying audio.
