โš ๏ธ W3C Working Draft Notice

WCAG 3.0 is an active W3C Working Draft in development by the AGWG. Requirements, assertions, the conformance model and reporting tiers are still being developed and may change. The latest published draft is the 10 September 2026 Working Draft; this site follows the editorsโ€™ draft, which also includes exploratory provisions.

developing Core requirement

Blocks of text readable (minimum)

Group: text-and-wording • Guideline: text-appearance

Summary in Plain English

The same as the enhanced version but at a minimum level: the authored presentation of text blocks meets baseline values for inline margin, block margin, line length and line height, still to be determined.

Why It Matters

Long lines and tight leading cause readers to lose their place on the return sweep - a problem for everyone, and a barrier for people with dyslexia or low vision.
