developing Core requirement

Audio descriptions equivalent (prerecorded)

Group: images-and-media • Guideline: audio-descriptions

Summary in Plain English

Not just present, but equivalent: the description has to carry the same information as the visual content it stands in for.

Why It Matters

A description that names what is on screen without conveying what it means leaves blind viewers with a thinner version of the content than everyone else gets.
